About India

About Us.

We exist to empower South Asian native missions through micro-enterprise. Our dairy farm's profits support an orphanage, a widow's sewing school, clean water delivery to urban slum areas, a Bible College, and church planting among unreached areas. We're working among the world's poorest, where 1.1 billion live on less than $2 per day. As we strive to equip the South Asian church, we seek sustainability, empowerment and multiplication.

Multiplying the Church. Through the Peace Gospel Bible College in South India, our native team has trained and commissioned over 70 full time laborers into the work of the Great Commission. Our native teams have planted over 40 churches among unreached areas-- many remote villages in India have never heard the name of Jesus. Our desire is not only to multiply the church through establishing new congregations of believers, but also to equip the native church in South Asia. One example of that is found in our translation of two Bible Studies into the Telugu language-- the first publications of their kind.

Multiplying Your Giving. The day-to-day efforts you've just read about are being funded primarily through the agricultural enterprise at our dairy farm. Why dairy? Milk is a staple in the Indian diet. With the human population boom in India (currently over 1.1 Billion), the dairy output has not been able to keep up. Thus milk is highly profitable. 100% of the profits are directed back to our various outreach programs in India, thus the dollars you entrust to us as a donor are multiplied many times over (see chart at right). Each water buffalo at the farm nets about $100 per month for our program funding, and a healthy nursing water buffalo costs only $500. We're now in the midst of expanding this model of "giving multiplication" with farms that will produce the resources necessary to build more orphanages, expand clean water delivery to the slums, and more-- without having to raise funds from the West for each step of the way. It's our hope that through this method, churches in South Asia can become self-sufficient in their work to fulfill the Great Commission. [more on the dairy farm]

Multiplying Internationally. God has enabled us to serve Him under this vision in the nation of India since 1993. As the Lord leads, we have a desire to carry forth our model of ministry in other nations. We view the Indian effort as a pilot which is being tested in the eventual expectation that its success will inspire replication in other nations.

BRIEF HISTORY OF PEACE GOSPEL. Peace Gospel International was birthed as a result of two men heeding God's call to pioneer the message of the Gospel in areas where it had not yet been proclaimed, to reach out to the poor with acts of mercy, and to train others to do the same. Kirby Trapolino was on a short-term mission trip with Teen Missions International leading a group of teenage missionaries to South India in 1993 when he met a man named Pastor Samson who was working as a native missionary in an urban slum area. These two men prayed and found a deep common bond in their desire to pursue of the goal of the Great Commission. Kirby realized that Pastor Samson had a great desire to pursue God's call to the fullest extent, yet was limited in his ability to do so because of lack of funding. They both realized that this was a problem that many native missionaries faced.

Together Pastor Samson and Kirby received a vision to teach, equip and commission other native missionaries in India, and to work to provide relief to victims of poverty and disease. Kirby felt God's call to raise awareness among the global church of the amazing impact men like Pastor Samson could have for the Great Commission if even the smallest resources were made available to them. Kirby co-founded Peace Gospel in 1993 along with Pastor Samson in order to work toward this goal, and to herald the untold stories of the dedication, boldness and sacrifice of our brothers and sisters serving the Lord among the poorest of the poor with meager resources.

The early years of the ministry were a fruitful season of learning, preparation and harvest. During 1999-2000 our organization saw an increase in donations that allowed for the purchase of land in South India. We were able to build our own facilities for a Bible College and Orphanage. Over 40 new churches have been planted, over 70 indigenous missionaries trained & commissioned into full time work, and over 150 orphans have received care and gone on to a fruitful adulthood through our efforts. Peace Gospel is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in the United States (Houston, Texas), and is governed by Christians who uphold the doctrines of historic Christianity.

We hope you are inspired by our story. Would you like to learn more about how you can partner with us to expand the scope of this work? We need your help.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in the three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood and His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His tangible return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and lost - they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
