Children Cared For

Our Argentina programs serve a community in a “shanty town” known as Villa 1-11-14, one of Buenos Aires’ toughest neighborhoods. This community consists of low-income families, mostly single mothers, unemployed people or people with informal jobs, with incomes well below the minimum wage. Ninety percent of these families live in precarious housing within a settlement, renting their homes.

The programs are led by local native Pastor Marcelo Robles, whom our executive director came to know during a holy land tour.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE CENTER

“Mi Lugar en el Sur” is an early childhood care center dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children aged 1 to 3 who are in vulnerable situations. The center has 150 children enrolled, with 20 on the waiting list.

Their goal is to ensure the children’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and social development through high-quality services, including nutrition, early education, and family support, bringing God’s kingdom closer to their families and community.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Local residents serve as teachers at the early childhood care center, enhancing community involvement and providing much needed employment for these local families who are struggling financially. We will also promote trafficking awareness, focusing on education as a tool against human trafficking by developing our trafficking awareness curriculum in Spanish to be shared and taught to the “shanty town” residents.

SUSTAINABLE FUNDING

We’ll be supporting Pastor Marcelo’s innovative educational partnership with a university as he offers affordable coursework to high school graduates while providing financial self-sufficiency for his programs.
