Orphans Cared For
We first partnered with our India native team in 1993 when we started conducting relief outreach to children in an urban slum colony. Today, our India programs serve local at-risk minority children and women through the following programs:
ORPHAN CARE AND EDUCATION
Our programs in South India serve vulnerable children such as orphans, trafficking survivors, and child labor victims through foster care, primary & secondary school education support, and college scholarships.
CHILDREN’S HOPE CENTERS
Our five Children’s Hope Centers in operation throughout the region where we serve provide after-school tutoring, fresh-cooked meals and snacks, and fun recreation time to at-risk minority children. The Centers also serve as food distribution points for our foster care families to make sure that they are supported with the nutrition needed for their foster child.
ON-CAMPUS TRADE SCHOOL
In 2023, we opened our India trade school on our main campus. The trade school offers certified skill coursework in trades such as tailoring to young women who are either recovering from human trafficking or else are at high risk of being trafficked.
FARMLAND ENTERPRISE
Our India farmland started as a water buffalo dairy farm— that’s why we have a water buffalo in our logo! However, today the farmland focuses on a seasonal lentil harvest, a vegetable garden and small-scale banana grove. The entirety of our farmland enterprise has empowered our native team with more funding from surplus crops sold at market, a stronger sense of ownership in their work, and delicious and organic ingredients for our children’s and staff’s meals. This helps to ensure that the children we serve are getting the nutrition they deserve.
INDIA NURSING COLLEGE
Over the past five years, we’ve been working to establish a technical college on our main campus in India, aimed at empowering orphans and disadvantaged children—especially young women—with access to quality education and meaningful career paths. What started as a general technical college has since evolved into a more focused vision: a nursing college offering the 3-year General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) boarding program.
In September 2025, we welcomed our first class of 40 freshman day students, who began their studies using existing classroom facilities. With generous donor support, construction of a our nursing college is now underway. Looking ahead, we plan to expand the program to a 4-year BS in Nursing by 2029, using net revenue from the college to provide even more scholarships for the orphans we serve.
