Orphans Cared For
In 2008 we partnered with a local Nepali family desiring to change lives among the undervalued and neglected of their society. Together we launched a new orphan home, a rehabilitation home for trafficking survivors, and a program to help at-risk children in Nepali slums stay in school.
REHABILITATION HOME AND TRADE SCHOOL
In response to the human trafficking crisis in South Asia, we operate our “She Has Hope” Rehabilitation Home and Trade School in Kathmandu, home to several Nepali girls and young ladies rescued from desperate situations. At the home, they receive room & board, counseling, medical care, and English and computer classes. At our trade school next to the home, they become proficient in tailoring and seamstress skills through daily coursework offered by our full-time teachers. Our goal is to equip the girls with all of the skills they need to enter the workforce as empowered citizens, fully realizing their potential, restoring them to a life full of hope. You can learn more about our trafficking response programs by visiting SheHasHope.org.
CHILDREN’S HOPE CENTER
Our Nepal team also operates a “Children’s Hope Center” program which provides education scholarships, school supplies, uniforms, and nutritional support for orphans and at-risk children. Through this program, we are able to help these children and their families break the cycle of poverty by keeping them in school. Ensuring they have access to education also reduces their risk of being trafficked, which is sadly very prevalent in Nepal.
ORPHAN CARE
Our Nepal orphan home was in operation from 2008 through 2023. A total of 28 children have come through the home. Some have been with us from the beginning and are now in their college experiences– in which we continue to support them through education scholarships – or have actually moved on into the workplace as productive adult citizens!
