October has been full of meaningful visits, encouraging progress, and reminders of God’s faithfulness.
Our executive director, Kirby Trapolino, recently traveled to four of our program locations in Asia. We’re grateful for the time he had with our local teams and the women and children they serve.
India: A Campus Taking Shape
In India, Kirby visited the campus where our advanced residential nursing degree program is taking shape.
Seeing the building in person gave him a renewed sense of just how significant this opportunity could be for generations of young women.
He also saw the classroom space serving our current two-year nursing program. Nearby, young women who grew up through our orphan-care program are continuing their education through college scholarships.
These are the education pathways we have prayed and worked toward for many years.

Nepal: Two Generations of Local Leadership
In Kathmandu, Kirby spent time with Bimal, who founded and faithfully led our Nepal program for many years, and his son Anmol, who now serves as director.
Seeing these two generations of trusted local leadership working together was deeply encouraging.
It reminded us again why our locally led model is so important.

Kirby also visited the She Has Hope rehabilitation home and trade school, where young women are receiving compassionate care while learning practical skills such as sewing, tailoring, and computer skills. The program recently expanded its training opportunities to include child-caregiver training and small-business operations.
One of the most meaningful moments was Kirby’s time with young adults who graduated from our former Nepal orphan-care program. They now gather for their own house-church services, continuing the relationships and faith community formed during their years in our care.

Twenty-Four Hours in Kathmandu
While in Kathmandu, Kirby completed his 12th 24 Hour Project. He photographed for 24 consecutive hours and shared one image every hour to raise support for She Has Hope.
Thanks to an amazing group of friends and supporters, we passed our $12,000 goal, reaching $12,024 in pledges from 56 people.
That was 14 more individual pledgers than in 2025, representing a 33% increase in participation.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who pledged, shared the project, prayed for Kirby, and followed along throughout those 24 hours.

Manila: Hope in the Heart of the Community
In Manila, Kirby visited our Children’s Hope Center and spent time with the local team serving children and families in the surrounding neighborhood.
The center remains a welcoming place where children can receive meals, educational support, clean water, encouragement, and the opportunity to stay in school.

Cebu: Practical Help and Lasting Skills
At the Cebu Girls Home, Kirby saw the new backup generator purchased to provide reliable power during frequent outages. It is a simple but important improvement for the girls and the local team caring for them.
He was also encouraged by the warm, ordinary rhythm of life at the home. Eight girls currently share meals, learning, faith, and daily life under the care of their house mother, Gina.

Kirby also visited women who received training through our Cebu trade school and have since started small businesses. The income they earn is helping them provide for their daughters and granddaughters, extending the impact into another generation.

A New Arrival in India
We also received joyful news from India this week.
On October 28, our India director and his family welcomed a healthy new baby grandson, Samson Joseph. We praise God for his safe arrival!

Thank You for Walking With Us
Kirby’s trip reminded us that our programs are not simply buildings or projects. They are communities of faithful local leaders, children finding stability, young women building new futures, and graduates carrying hope into the next generation.
Thank you for praying, giving, and walking alongside us. Your partnership is woven through every one of these encouraging updates.
October and November are typically our most challenging fundraising months. Our annual emergency fund has already been largely deployed, the funds raised at our April gala are at work across our programs, and year-end giving has not yet begun in earnest.
If you’re in a position to help us bridge this seasonal gap, we would be deeply grateful for your generosity at this time.
