Today we are happy to reflect on this past year and share with you what we’ve achieved together— 2021 has been a year of both heartache and victories combined.
What follows is our 2021 Year-End Impact Report. When you read, we are sure you’ll agree it’s nothing short of a miracle what you’ve helped us accomplish this year at Peace Gospel and She Has Hope.
We are so thankful for you and for God’s grace which has sustained our field staff, volunteers, and the more than 1000 women and children who depend on our programs for their security, rehabilitation, nutrition, and education.
FUNDING. Year-to-date, over $700,000 has been raised in support of orphans, trafficking survivors and child labor victims at 21 project locations.
MEALS. Over 700,000 fresh meals (about 2,000/day) were served to children in need thanks to your generosity and the multiplying effect of our farms and gardens.
ORPHAN CARE. 366 orphans were provided a loving home environment, education, and nutrition consistently throughout the year. We partnered with a new home in Myanmar established by one of our own graduates!
DISASTER RESPONSE. Over 22 tons of food and 80,000 fresh-cooked meals were served to those in crisis among the communities where we work. We responded to two of our teams being hit extremely hard by the virus as we sent more than $50,000 for medical response in Myanmar and India.
Developing news: We are currently responding to the unfolding Cyclone crisis in the Philippines thanks to your support; our team and their volunteers’ families have been hit hard. We appreciate your prayers for them at this time.
MULTIPLICATION. Your “seed” funding was multiplied to produce 11 tons of food (and counting!) on our farmlands, fisheries, and hen houses, providing operating income and fresh ingredients for our children’s meals.
GIRL GRADUATES. In our She Has Hope human trafficking response programs, 33 girls received their high school diplomas, 8 received college or trade school diplomas, and 3 were commissioned into small business ownership.
EDUCATION. As schools reopened from the initial lockdowns, 1042 scholarships saved children from hazardous child labor at our 8 Hope Centers and 4 schools.
IMPROVEMENTS. We are nearing completion on our new Myanmar orphan home and education center (seen below), a new dorm is being constructed for our rural Uganda boarding high school, and a new water well was drilled at our rural Uganda primary school.
TRAFFICKING PREVENTION. 100s of girls across all of our program locations were trained in trafficking avoidance workshops. In Myanmar, our newly-produced Burmese language booklet continued to educate girls about avoiding the common deceptions of traffickers.
NATIONAL TV. Last year we were on Good Morning America, and this year we were blessed to be mentioned on The Today Show for International Day of the Girl thanks to our partnership with Sapana Dreams.
PLATINUM SEAL. For the 11th year in a row, we have been awarded Platinum level status (the highest level) with GuideStar Exchange, the premier source for nonprofit information and transparency.
2021 YEAR-END CAMPAIGN. Our year-end goal will support our Philippines girls home and farmland improvement plans, Nepal orphan home kitchen makeover and multimedia library, and other emergency needs we anticipate in the new year.
Here’s the artist’s visualization of our proposed expansion and renovation of our Philippines girls home which also serves as our Children’s Hope outreach headquarters for the island of Cebu.
And in more good news, we are happy to remind you that we currently have a matching challenge in place.
Donations received toward our year-end campaign before midnight, December 31 will be doubled up to $75,000— resulting in $150,000 toward our goal if the matching is fully used. With your help, we can do this, together!
If you have not yet done so, please consider making a donation of any amount to help us get closer to this urgent goal and see your gift doubled.
We are so thankful for your friendship and support in 2021— we truly could not have done this without you.
